For those who love nature and plants, but don’t have much time to look after them, installing artificial grass is an easy, practical option. There are many new products that look very similar to natural grass, but which have the advantage of resisting the passage of time, without requiring care. A SOFT CARPET
Grass is an important element of pools and gardens. It needs a great deal of maintenance, and it is useful to know some techniques before planting it. However, there are other types of natural grass that are less demanding. The rustic type adapts most quickly to its surroundings and needs least care, while the ornamental types are more delicate. Sports surfaces are made to be stood on repeatedly, and are long lasting under stressful conditions.
Due to these features, artificial grass becomes an option as a replacement for natural grass. It demands less attention and, thanks to the latest techniques, in visual terms it is very similar to conventional grass. It doesn’t need watering, and so a saving is made on energy bills; it is comfortable to sit on -similar to natural grass-; and it can be chosen in different shades, to give a colourful touch to the garden or another area.
TURFGRASS
Made using multiple polyethylene fibres, Golden Terra series Artificial Grass is a combination of greens and earth tones, woven using high-density stitching to provide resistance to footfalls, and to return to its original shape afterwards. The company also presents a number of coloured finishes, as well as other models, all with an eight-year guarantee against fading in sunlight.
BEST GARDEN
Smart Terra is an artificial grass made of different monofilaments, with polyamides. A single bicolour polyethylene thread sticks up, while another textured polypropylene one with two earth tones remains at a lower height. In this way, it acquires resistance to footfalls, and can withstand damp conditions. It is finished with a reinforced polyurethane backing that makes it difficult for the thread to be pulled out.
